If you’ve decided to improve your smile using Invisalign, you’re probably wondering what the treatment process looks like. Although every patient has a different smile, everyone will experience a similar treatment process – some might just be longer or include extra aspects than others. Prepping For Invisalign
The first part of your Invisalign treatment is an appointment with Dr. Pribyl where he examines your smile to determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign. This appointment will include an examination and an evaluation of your oral health. Dr. Pribyl will discuss the treatment process and what your smile will look like once your treatment is finished. If you’re a good candidate and you decide to proceed with treatment, we will take digital impressions and pictures of your teeth.
Manufacturing Aligners
After your initial appointment with us, we will be compiling all your information to send off to the Invisalign lab. Since our impressions and images are all digital, it’s done on the computer. Once the lab receives your information, they will send us a mock-up of each stage of your Invisalign treatment. Dr. Pribyl will make any necessary modifications before finalizing the treatment plan. After the mock-up gets approved, the lab will begin manufacturing each set of aligners. Within a few weeks, your aligners will arrive in the mail.
Clear Aligner Delivery
Once we receive your aligners, you will visit us for your delivery appointment. During this appointment, we will make sure your aligners fit and you have any attachments in place for your treatment. We will also go over how long to wear your aligners and how to take care of them. You will leave our office with your first few sets of aligners to get you started.
Following Treatment Directions
After you get home, you will wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day and only remove them for eating, or cleaning your teeth. Make sure you wear each set of aligners for our recommended period of time. You will visit us periodically so we can check on your progress and make any needed changes to attachments or your treatment plan.
